How Apple Further Streamlines How Their Computers Function
The apple OS X platform been considered revolutionary since it’s launch. The newer apple operating system, and the updated aesthetics are what most people credit to Apple’s rise in the computer world in the past few years. So what exactly makes it special? Why are so many people choosing over windows all of a sudden?
Let’s take a look at some of the ways the OSX (especially with the launch of Snow Leopard) has been streamlined. The first feature is the first (maybe second) thing that you will see, the interface. The interface is basically just the set of menus, shortcuts, etc. Basically the interface is what you use to get around.
So what’s so great about this newfangled interface? The first thing you’re going to notice is the apple “dock bar” which is a set of your most used programs at the bottom. This bar is fully customizable in appearance, function, and the shortcuts can be swapped out. Having that many programs on a quick launch menu seems to appeal to many’s idea of convenience.
The interface also includes a single option menu that changes depending on what program, so there is no need to hunt around for your options.
In addition to this interface, another huge advantage of getting an apple is incredible: the lack of viruses. Due to the base of OS X being linux the security is incredible. Simply put, most of the viruses on the internet aren’t compatible with Apple’s OSX. For anyone who has had a virus, they know this is a big deal! Get a virus and take it to a PC repair service, especially from a retail chain, and it will be anywhere from 150-300 for a virus removal. These rates are a little excessive typically, but sometimes considering the hours required, it’s actually a little bit low.
These are the primary ways that apple streamlines their computer systems. There is a lot more info, but too much to post here!
